TAN SRI DATUK DR. HAJI OMAR BIN ABDUL RAHMAN
Chairman
Tan Sri Omar started work as a Research Officer in the Veterinary Research Institute, Ipoh in 1960 and was promoted to Senior Research Officer in 1966.
In 1972, Tan Sri Omar was appointed the Founding Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences and the first professor at the newly established Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM), now University Putra Malaysia. Tan Sri Omar played a major role in the establishment phase of the university. Tan Sri Omar’s last position was as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs. Tan Sri Omar is now Professor Emeritus of the University.
In 1984, Tan Sri Omar was appointed to the new position of Science Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Department. As Science Advisor, Tan Sri Omar served on a number of national committees and initiated many programmes for enhancing technology management, increasing funding for Research & Development (R&D) and for commercialization of the results of research. Tan Sri Omar was the founder chairman of:
- Technology Park Malaysia Corporation (TPM)
- The Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT)
- Composite Technology (Research) Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTRM)
- Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC)
Tan Sri Omar is the founding and current chairman of the London-based Commonwealth Partnership for Technology Management Ltd (CPTM), Founding Fellow of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), an Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan. Tan Sri Omar was a member of the United Nations Advisory Committee on Science and Technology for Development, the Executive Committee for OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation and of the UNESCO’s International Scientific Council for Science and Technology Policy Development.
Tan Sri Omar is the past President of the Federation of Asian Scientific Academies and Societies (FASAS), the past President of The Science Council of Asia and a former member of the UNESCO Committee on Ethics of Science and Technology (COMEST).
Tan Sri Omar was the Founding President and current Senior Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. Tan Sri Omar also is currently a member of the External Advisory Council of MAHSA University and a member of the Council of UCSI University.
Tan Sri Omar graduated in:
- Veterinary science from the University of Sydney (1958)
- Obtained a Certificate in Pathology from the University of Queensland (1959)
- Obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge (1966)

Dr. Ir. Ts. Beh received the 5th Malaysia Top Entrepreneur of The Year Awards (AEEF) in recognition of his outstanding entrepreneurship and sound business acumen.
Dr. Ir. Ts. Beh is an expert in Mechanical and Electrical Services with an illustrious engineering career of 15 years in Construction and Building Industry.
Dr. Ir. Ts. Beh has vast experiences in Mechanical & Piping of storage tanks, steel structures, industrial oil and gas piping, as well as Electrical and Instrumentation in oil & gas (refinery), petrochemicals, power generation and transmission. Dr. Ir. Ts. Beh pursued certification as a Green Building Index Facilitator (GBIF) as Dr. Ir. Ts. Beh is passionate about helping the industry develop sustainable frameworks and guiding principles while taking into considerations the Economic, Environmental and Social (EES) risks and opportunities. This goes alongside the financial implications of sustainable development as a measure to generate long term benefits and business continuity. Prior to starting SD Associates Sdn. Bhd. and assuming the position as the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ir. Ts. Beh was appointed as the Senior Manager Serba Dinamik Group Berhad, focusing on Project Management for Power Plant, Construction and Building Industry.
Besides that, Dr. Ir. Ts. Beh is a mentor of Engineering Competency Development Program for Institute of Engineer Malaysia and standing committee for The Institution of Engineer Malaysia on Professional Practice division and Examinations and Qualifications division (Sessions 2020/21).
